The Tyldak figure has wings that reach over 14 inches at full extension. His head "fin" and a stand to assist in keeping him standing were included in the package as well. He came with no additional accessories. Due to his wing span, he came with his arms/ wings folded infront of him. This bend made displaying the firgure problematic, as the plastic has memory and removing the bend proved challenging for collectors. Some people resorted to wiring him to a support to keep his wings back, heat guns to remold the plastic was also tried, though that risked paint damage. Another solution was long term weight to force the memory out of the plastic. All of the solutions had drawbacks, but you do what you have to do. Tyldak has articulated shoulders, knees and ankles. The stand is a necessity, as the ankle joints are not stiff enough to hold the weight of the body and arms. When his feet are attached to the pegs on his base plate he face plants in a very undignified manner.
Art Asylum created a set of four figures as the first series of ElfQuest figurines. A second series was planned but never went into production. Each figure had a base that fit together with the bases of the other three figures. The bases have small pegs to hold the figures. The feet have holes that fit on the pegs. The packaging for all four figures feature the cover of ElfQuest Volume 2, Issue 4, behind the figure and accessories.Wendy Pini created a four section background image and posted it online for collectors to download and display behind their figures. |
